The course provides the knowledge required by people engaged in the supervision of welding and allied processes, (including gouging and cutting) of steel structures constructed in accordance with AS/NZS 1554, to designs in accordance with NZS 3404, AS 3990, AS 4100 or AS/NZS 4600.

- Welding safety
- Welding, cutting and related processes
- Welding equipment
- Welding practice
- Welding production
- Welding inspection and testing
- Basic metallurgy
- Application standards
The Course consists of 40 teaching hours arranged as a one-week full time block. In addition candidates are required to undertake 60 hours of self-directed study.
