Ultrasonic Wall Thickness

This course has been designed to assist anyone who requires a basic knowledge of ultrasonic wall thickness testing. The course provides an ideal base to ultrasonic theory and practical techniques. A high theory and practical base are maintained throughout the course which can be modified to suit students who may wish to concentrate on specific methods of ultrasonic wall thickness inspection. The course is suitable for persons who are preparing for CBIP
examinations. Persons attending the course will need to bring with them wall thickness measuring equipment.

The aims of the course are to: Understand the basic theory requirements for ultrasonic inspection, Understand and apply the practical aspects of ultrasonic wall thickness inspection, Use the various calibration blocks available, Identify wall thickness inspection problems, Examine and inspect material, Interpret codes or specifications that relate to wall thickness inspection, Write meaningful and effective ultrasonic wall thickness inspection reports.
